DC Crime Wave: 11 Shot, 2 Dead in 24 Hours

In less than 24 hours, Washington, D.C. experienced a significant crime spree, resulting in 11 people being shot and 2 fatalities. The D.C. Police Department is currently investigating the incidents and searching for suspects involved in these violent crimes.

Multiple Shootings

On the evening of July 24, at 9:25 PM, a shooting occurred in the Shaw neighborhood at the intersection of Seventh and O Streets Northwest, near the Kennedy Community Center. Three men standing outside were shot, and D.C. police patrolling the area responded to the gunshots. Two of the victims were found at the scene and taken to the hospital by D.C. Fire and EMS; one did not survive. A third man with a gunshot wound later showed up at the hospital. Earlier, at 8:25 PM, another shooting took place in Southeast D.C. on the 200 block of 37th Place, where three men were shot. All of them are expected to survive.

Potential Connection

A silver Jeep Grand Cherokee was seen speeding away from both the Shaw neighborhood shooting and the Southeast D.C. shooting, suggesting a possible connection between the two incidents.

Additional Incidents

On the morning of July 25, a separate shooting occurred on Atlantic Street Southeast, which is unrelated to the previous night’s events. Another incident took place on Park Road Northwest, where a woman was shot and wounded.
