ABC News Radio will provide extensive coverage of the 81st Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, February 22nd. ABC News Radio’s comprehensive coverage of the Annual Academy Awards will include a two-hour Oscar Special, “Red Hot Red Carpet Live.†The live broadcast will include celebrity arrivals and interviews along the red carpet at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The program will be hosted by ABC News Radio Entertainment Correspondent and Movie Critic David Blaustein, ABC News Correspondent Radio Alex Stone and Entertainment Reporter Steve Mason.
Among the celebrities that joined previous “Red Hot Red Carpet Live†broadcasts: George Clooney, Harrison Ford, Drew Barrymore, Keira Knightley, Clint Eastwood, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Carrell, Javier Bardem, Viggo Mortensen, Al Gore, Forrest Whitaker, Martin Scorsese, Celine Dion, Beyoncé, Will Smith, Cate Blanchett, John Travolta, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren and Judi Dench.
ABC News Radio will provide one-minute Status Reports live twice an hour from backstage at the Academy Awards in Hollywood anchored by ABC News Radio Correspondent Chuck Sivertsen, along with ABC News Radio Entertainment Correspondents David Blaustein and Dave Alpert in Hollywood. The Status Repots will begin at 8:20pm ET and continue until 1:20am ET.
Hosted by ABC’s David Blaustein, the “Oscar Guide 2009†special gives listeners the inside scoop on nominees celebrating Hollywood’s biggest night of the year. This special will feature interviews and clips the nominees woven into an entertaining roundtable discussion with three of the country’s top critics: Peter Travers of Rolling Stone, Leah Rozen of People Magazine and Alison Bailes of Reel Talk.
