Man Made Music, a top music company specializing in Sonic Branding, is no stranger to The Weather Channel’s mission to distinguish itself as the destination for weather programming focused on connecting with their audience. In fact, the Man Made Music team has played a crucial role in the sonic development of The Weather Channel’s “Passionate Explorer Platform” that debuted in 2013. Continuing into the new year, Man Made Music created the theme for “AMHQ (America’s Morning Headquarters) with Sam Champion” which premiered on Monday, March 17 at 7am EST.
The Weather Channel tasked Man Made Music with crafting a theme that would come alive for morning viewers and balance an inviting intimacy necessary in the early hours of the day with the epic quality of an entirely new type of flagship live morning show.
The Man Made Music team constructed a hybrid instrumentation: electronic instruments for power and a modern feel combined with acoustic elements for intimacy and warmth. Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning weather anchor Sam Champion even stopped by the Man Made Music recording studio along with Darcy Bonfils, Executive Producer for AMHQ with Sam Champion, to offer his input in the construction of a recording that would have the magnetic qualities necessary to draw in an early morning audience (see photo above).
“Sam and the creative team at AMHQ are endeavoring to do something bold and exciting in the morning, and I was so thrilled they asked us to come up with something unique for them to capture the spirit of the program and help send people off on their day,” stated Man Made Music’s Founder and Lead Composer, Joel Beckerman.
