iHeartMedia Launches “iHeartRadio Emerging ALT”

iHeartMedia announced today the debut of the new specialty show “iHeartRadio Emerging ALT,” kicking off tonight and broadcasting weekdays from 11 p.m. to midnight local time across iHeartMedia’s Alternative stations nationwide.

iHeartMedia remains dedicated to music discovery, and Alternative music fans continue to have a robust appetite for new and emerging artists. Hosted by Alex Mac from iHeartMedia Washington DC’s premiere Alternative Rock station DC101, this show will highlight popular and up-and coming artists, music and much more each night.

Alex, with his extensive knowledge and passion for new Alternative music, will engage listeners with stories about the artists, the inspiration behind the music as well as interviews each night, introducing listeners to both established as well emerging artists and bringing further awareness to great new talent and music.

“Discovering new music is a critical component of the Alternative format, and we’re excited to spotlight independent artists, new artists, unsigned artists and new songs that our audience should know. We remain committed to breaking new artists and have big plans for this show,” said Lisa Worden, SVP Alternative and Rock for iHeartMedia and Program Director of iHeartMedia’s flagship Alternative station ALT 98.7, Los Angeles.
