Chicago Shooting Leaves Infant, Father Critical

A tragic shooting incident occurred in Little Village, Chicago, leaving a 3-month-old boy and his 21-year-old father critically injured.

The shooting took place just after 4:30 PM on Saturday near the intersection of 26th and Whipple.

Description of the Incident

Witnesses reported hearing what initially sounded like fireworks before realizing it was gunfire. Two gunmen approached the family’s car and opened fire. The infant’s mother, who was also in the car, was unharmed as she briefly exited the vehicle in a panic.

Immediate Aftermath

The family’s bullet-riddled car was later found near 24th and California. The father was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with four gunshot wounds on the right side of his body, while the infant was stabilized at Stroger Hospital with a critical gunshot wound to the upper chest.

Police Investigation

Police are currently investigating the motive behind the shooting. No further details have been provided at this time.
