No reason was given why 55-year-old Stacy Hayes killed his co-worker Anrae James, a married father of 3. Hayes opened fire on James at close range after entering the hospital with scrubs and going to the 9th floor to kill James. After the shooting at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Hayes promptly left the hospital in a U-Haul and was stopped by police when he opened fire on the police, who returned shots. No life-threatening shots were fired.
