The 12-hour “Heart for Haiti Radiothon” raised over $10, 843 in cash donations for Heart to Heart International. All proceeds collected were donated to assist the organization’s efforts toprovide aid to Haiti in the aftermath of the recent 7.0 magnitude earthquake. In addition to
monetary donations, several loads of medical, hygene products and bottled water were collected.
Over 100 volunteers signed up with Heart to Heart International to continue their efforts to provide support for Haiti, which is projected to last throughout the year. Carter Broadcast Group, home to KPRS and KPRT, are grateful for support of their listeners, and area businesses. In addition, television coverage provided byWDAF Fox 4, KCTV5, and KMBC Channel 9 contributed to the success of this event.
