Atlanta Schools on Lockdown for Active Shooter

A man who randomly open fire in the Midtown area of Atlanta near W. Peachtree St. is still at large authorities have decided to put all public schools on lockdown as they investigate the situation.

The effect is an order for Midtown Atlanta as one is now dead and four injured. The schools that will be on lockdown and the Midtown and Washington clusters are king metal, Staunton, Elementary, Wesley international charter, and Dunbar elementary students will not be dismissed until further notice.

Of course we’ll call cause major traffic and bus delays. It is unclear which other schools are being placed on lockdown.

APS (Atlanta Public Safety) released a statement that said “APS community, as the area immediately surrounding 1110 West Peachtree St. in Midtown, Atlanta remains under a shelter in place due to an active shooter, several Atlanta public schools will operate on exterior lockdown for the remainder of the day out of an abundance of caution until we receive further information from authorities. Our campuses are secure. This is out of an abundance of caution. Families, this may create traffic issues which could result in bus delays this afternoon. We appreciate your patience” source
