Not sure why we needed to know this. BET has been in the news lately as the network is up for sale, and Tyler Perry and Byron Allen are eyeing the prospect of becoming owners. In the meantime, former chairperson Debra Lee is promoting a book; I am Debra Lee, where she admits to having an affair with BET Founder Bob Johnson while they were both married.
In this clip, she states there was no #metoo around then, and she didn’t have other women to advise her on the situation where she felt trapped. As of yet, there is no word from Bob Johnson or his ex-wife, Sheila Johnson, who helped Bob build the BET empire.
