KISS-FM’s Special K Adds Music Director Role

103.5 KISS-FM Program Director Rick Vaughn has promoted night host Special K to Music Director.

Special K was promoted to nights on 103.5 KISS-FM in October 2009 after working with the station for two years doing production work, weekend and fill-in shifts. Prior to his on-air work, he worked for Clear Channel’s Total Traffic Network

“Special K’s experience and passion give 103.5 KISS-FM an advantage no other radio station in Chicago can match,” said Vaughn.

Special K earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia College Chicago, where his major was radio broadcasting. He is a professional hip hop music dancer and has appeared in TV commercials, music videos and on FOX’s hit show “So You Think You Can Dance.”

He fills the position left empty by Kenard Karter, who moves to Clear Channel’s KMEL-FM in San Francisco to be the Assistant Program Director/Music Director.

This promotion is effective immediately.
