KISS-FM’s Special K Adds Music Director Role

103.5 KISS-FM Program Director Rick Vaughn has promoted night host Special K to Music Director.

Special K was promoted to nights on 103.5 KISS-FM in October 2009 after working with the station for two years doing production work, weekend and fill-in shifts. Prior to his on-air work, he worked for Clear Channel’s Total Traffic Network

“Special K’s experience and passion give 103.5 KISS-FM an advantage no other radio station in Chicago can match,” said Vaughn.

Special K earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia College Chicago, where his major was radio broadcasting. He is a professional hip hop music dancer and has appeared in TV commercials, music videos and on FOX’s hit show “So You Think You Can Dance.”

He fills the position left empty by Kenard Karter, who moves to Clear Channel’s KMEL-FM in San Francisco to be the Assistant Program Director/Music Director.

This promotion is effective immediately.
