Sony Music and Droptine’s Deal with Dalton Dover

Sony Music Publishing Nashville and Droptine Music Publishing today announced their partnership to sign breakthrough country singer-songwriter Dalton Dover to a global publishing agreement.

“To say I’m excited to sign with Sony Music Publishing is an understatement,” shared the Aragon Georgia-native. “I’m thrilled, but also motivated to continue growing, and I am so grateful to Droptine and Sony for betting on me.”

“From the moment you hear Dalton’s voice, there’s no doubt he was born to do this. We couldn’t be more excited about the music he is creating and the future ahead of him,” said Sony Music Publishing Nashville CEO Rusty Gaston.

“I am so honored to be working with such an amazing talent,” said Droptine founder Jim Catino. “Dalton has an exciting future that is off to a huge start. Thanks to Matt McVaney for bringing Dalton to me and producing this project. I’m also thankful for Rusty Gaston and all the support from his amazing team at Sony Music Publishing.” 

Dover first achieved prominence after appearing on Season 16 of The Voice, where he earned a chair turn from legendary country artist Blake Shelton. Two years later, Dover has continued to build his fan base on TikTok, garnering millions of views with his popular #CatchMeOffGuard series of cover song mashups. The series has earned the praise of top country artists including Jimmie Allen, Luke Combs, Kidd G and Kameron Marlowe.
 
His debut songs “You Got A Small Town” and “Baby I Am” saw the 23-year-old garner notable playlisting and earn a spot on Spotify’s Hot Country 2022 Artists to Watch, along with a spotlight as Billboard’s February’sCountry Rookie of the Month, while recent release “Hear About A Girl” received critical acclaim from MusicRow, praising, “We’re the presence of a master country talent when this man sings. Make him a star. Now.” Dover is set to release “Damn Good Life” on Sept. 23.

Droptine Music Publishing is a newly formed company run by industry veteran Jim Catino. Droptine Music and Sony Publishing Nashville have partnerships with the following writers: Dalton Dover, Tommy Karlas, Alex Maxwell and Russell Sutton.
