Rodney Perry in Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family

Rodney Perry, comedian co-host of the highly popular Mo’Nique Show, is hitting the big screen. Perry will co-star in the latest installment of the Tyler Perry Madea dramedy’s, “Madea’s Big Happy Family.” Perry will appear as Harold; a henpecked man who has completely lost control of his family. The drama/comedy, was written and directed by Tyler Perry and was adapted from Perry’s stage play, which is currently touring throughout the United States.

Rodney Perry began filming this month and will appear alongside Tyler Perry, (who has reprised his role as Mabel “Madea” Simmons,) Bow Wow, Loretta Devine, Lauren London, and Isaiah Mustafa. Production is slated to wrap in early September and the film will hit a theater near you on April 22, 2011. No stranger to film, Perry Perry has starred alongside Matt Damon in the film, “The Informant,” as well as appeared in “Bushwacked,” “Chicago Pulaski Jones” with Cedric The Entertainer, “Johnson Family Vacation” and DVD releases “Legacy,” “Redrum” and “Showstoppers.” This role has Rodney comfortably wearing his comedic skin and delivering his unique brand of hilarity alongside a stellar cast of characters.

Rodney Perry also continues to co-host The Mo’Nique Show, broadcasting daily on BET. Season two will begin airing in October 2010.
