Family, friends, fellow artists, civic leaders and admirers gathered in Atlanta to celebrate Mr. Bryson’s extraordinary life, enduring legacy and the immeasurable impact his music has had on generations around the world.
The service featured moving musical tributes from Grammy Award-winning singer Regina Belle, Grammy Award-winning gospel artist BeBe Winans, and Grammy-nominated recording artist Ruben Studdard; reflections from family, close friends and former Atlanta mayors; a special proclamation from the City of Atlanta; and attending notables, including Chris Tucker, Terry Lewis, Angela Winbush, Emmanuel Lewis, Ed Gordon, and a host of artists, entertainers, and community leaders whose lives were touched by Mr. Bryson’s remarkable talent and generous spirit.
