Dial Global’s Cooper Lawrence stars as ‘fame guru’ on Confessions of a Teen Idol
Cooper Lawrence is well-known as a syndicated radio host, author and relationship expert. This week, Cooper added ‘fame guru’ to her resume, starring in VH1’s new television series Confessions of a Teen Idol. The show debuted last night on VH1 and will continue on Sunday nights at 8pmET through February 2009.
Confessions of a Teen Idol centers around 7 famous hunks from the 80’s and 90’s who are forced to examine fame and its consequences. Under the guidance of celebrity psychology expert Cooper Lawrence, the hunks let go of their past fame and reclaim control of their future. Cooper helps them focus on getting the life – and the comeback they want.
The eight-part series features grown up hunk Scott Baio, child star turned producer Jason Hervey ( Wonder Years) and showcases Christopher Atkins (The Blue Lagoon), David Chokachi (Baywatch), Adrian Zmed (TJ Hooker, Grease 2). Billy Hufsey (Fame), Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch), Eric Nies (MTV’s The Real World and The Grind) and Jamie Walters (Beverly Hills 90210).
Each hour-long episode provides a rare look at fame and its consequences as the guys live together and share their innermost feelings with Cooper Lawrence. She commented, “I’ve spent 15 years in radio and even more years working with celebrities. So, it was a thrill to bring what I do to television.â€
Cooper’s latest book, The Cult Of Celebrity is an exploration into what fame and celebrity mean to our culture and to our society.
