A REPULSIVE joke someone told me yesterday…. “Nobody should be surprised it doesn’t pay..it is called Urban isn’t it?” Disgusting and tasteless…and yet interesting and funny.
After DL Hughley publicly exposed the company for not paying him for months… now we are hearing from sources close to the situation that new URBan radio signee Doug Banks’ sidekick DeDe McGuire has an issue with missing payments… We have been informed that DeDe REFUSES to work until she receives back pay for several weeks/months of work. According to sources veteran Doug Banks did a partnership deal and owns a part of the show but after recent allegations our source questions URBan radio’s ethics, which is in NO way a reflection of what mrkevinross.com thinks. The question nevertheless becomes… if all this is true, why would so many new shows keep signing with the company? Our source states the company allegedly is not able to pay bills and as I stated in another story waiting for ad corporations to pay especially via ad agencies can take eons so companies like this MUST have cash on hand. In case you didn’t know, DL had gone for almost 6 months without a paycheck from URBan radio to the tune of a half million dollars. He was fortunate to have good ratings and a good relationship with Emmis and was able to work out his own deal with Emmis exclusively… and then URBan, after NOT paying DL and allegedly saying Emmis was supposed to pay him for the deal has now filed suit AGAINST EMMIS! What in de fook, Let us pray and Happy Easter. We will keep you posted of URBan radio’s financial proclivities. One source stated, “Why doesn’t Doug pay DeDe?” I can’t answer that question for I am not Doug.
