Flight Attendant Gives Simone Biles a Coloring Book After Mistaking Her for a Child

A Flight attendant gave Simone Biles a coloring book after mistaking her for a child. The mistaken identity happened when the Olympic champ was mistaken for a child last week on her flight home from accepting the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The 25-year-old, 4-foot-8 gymnast shared the unsettling interaction on her Instagram story with a look of disbelief.

“Not the flight attendant trying to give me a coloring book when I board…. I said, ‘no, I’m good. I’m 25,’” Biles captioned the pic, which was screenshotted and shared on Twitter.

Biles is among 16 others who were in Washington DC to accept the nation’s highest civilian award. The gold medalist is tied for the most decorated gymnast in history.

When President Biden placed the award around her neck in a White House ceremony, Biles became the youngest person to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She will now need to find a spot for her new medal amongst the 32 Olympic and World Championship medals she has already received, the President joked.

When the mistaken identity happened, Biles was probably on a flight back from Washington DC to her home state of Texas.

After the coloring book incident, Biles was served alcohol, but her legal drinking age was questioned.

“The other flight attendant gave me a mimosa, so we’re in the clear,” she wrote.

Biles’s screenshot describing the incident has gone viral on Twitter with over 160,000 likes.

“[I]’m crying at the thought of a flight attendant giving simone biles [sic] the most decorated gymnast in history, a coloring book because she is 4’8″,” @mattxiv wrote in the tweet.
