Adoptive Parents Charged in Child’s Death in Washing Machine

A man and a woman adopted a 7-year-old boy, in 2019. This year they reported him missing then authorities found the boy, Troy Khoeler, deceased and stuffed him in a washing machine in their garage. It’s even possible the parents turned the machine on since the boy showed signs of drowning.

The “parents” 42-year-old Jemaine Thomas and 35-year-old Tiffany Thomas, are charged in connection with the boy’s death, the boy’s father is charged with capital murder, and the mother is charged with injury to a child by omission.

The father, Jemaine Thomas’ bond was set at $2 million and his wife’s bond was set at $150,000. Court documents revealed text messages that investigators reviewed from the Thomases’ cell phones where they had threatened to kill Troy … because the child ate their snacks. Child protective services have had a history with the family.
