Chika Reimagines A Different World In 90s-Inspired Visual For “Can’t Explain It” Feat. Charlie Wilson

Rapper/singer/poet/activist Chika just released a brand new single and video for “Can’t Explain It” featuring R&B veteran Charlie Wilson. The song samples “So Into You” from another R&B legend Tamia, perfectly intertwining
Chika’s new school feel and her love of the music that came before her. The visual for “Can’t Explain It,” directed by Chika and Top Shelf Junior, reimagines her as “Dwayne Wayne” from the iconic 90s TV show A Different World. Chika plays Dwayne attending HillMayne College, working to win over her crush “Whitley.”

Chika has had an impressive year to say the least; from releasing her first two singles “No Squares” and “High Rises,” to performing on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! hosted by Lena Waithe. She also starred in her first major fashion campaign with Calvin Klein and signed to Warner Records. The Alabama rapper is gearing up for even more big moments in 2020 with more music on the way.
