Chatham Shooting: Police Hunt Suspects

Chicago police are currently searching for suspects involved in a fatal shooting that occurred in the Chatham neighborhood. The incident took place early Sunday morning, around 2:15 AM.

Three Fatalities Following Argument

The victims, two men and one woman, were involved in an argument with two unknown suspects. The suspects, reportedly in an SUV, opened fire on the victims. All three were taken to area hospitals but did not survive.

Witnesses and Police Response

Residents in the neighborhood described hearing rapid gunfire and seeing a chaotic scene as multiple 9-1-1 calls were made. Chicago police officers were observed performing CPR on the victims at the scene. Despite their efforts, the victims were pronounced dead.

Community Reaction

The shooting has left the community shaken and saddened. One resident, William McGee, expressed his grief, having lost his nephew in a separate shooting the day before. Many neighbors shared their concerns and sympathies off-camera, hoping for justice for the victims.

Police Investigation

Chicago police are actively investigating the incident, seeking any video footage of the suspect vehicle. They are encouraging anyone with information to reach out to the police or submit an anonymous tip online. As of now, the names and ages of the victims have not been released.
