18-Year-Old Charged With 2 Homicides, Multiple Shootings

An 18-year-old student has been charged by the Baltimore City police with murder and attempted murder in relation to two homicides and several shooting incidents. Jabre Griffith has been accused of masterminding a series of violent crimes, which resulted in the deaths of two men.

The initial incident took place at approximately midnight on March 23 in the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue, where boxer Ernest Hall tragically lost his life due to gunshot wounds. Additionally, five other individuals were injured during the incident. The local community has expressed their shock and dismay regarding the level of violence exhibited in these events.

“This city is erupting. There’s too much violence. There’s too much going on. There’s not enough to keep our youth out of trouble,” said Davon Fletcher.

According to charging documents, forensic technicians from the crime lab have discovered a total of 49 shell casings at the crime scene on Edmondson Avenue. The documents also mention that surveillance video footage places Jabre Griffith and a 15-year-old accomplice at the location during the incident.

“A lot of children these days run from their problems. Their parents, they are not really parents,” said Diamond Dillon.

Homicide detectives have reason to believe that Griffith was also involved in a shooting incident that occurred on March 23 in the 5400 block of York Road, resulting in the death of Micah Strong and another individual being wounded. At the crime scene, a balloon memorial spelling out Strong’s name has been placed, and visible bullet holes remain at a nearby business establishment.

According to the police, on June 6, officers apprehended Griffith in the parking lot of Dunbar High School on two murder warrants. During the arrest, law enforcement recovered a .40 caliber Glock handgun containing ten rounds of ammunition, with its serial number intentionally erased. Additionally, two bags of suspected cannabis, a bowl of suspected heroin and fentanyl, and a digital scale were also found in Griffith’s possession. Source.
