A Michigan mother, Jennifer Lawson, is devastated after learning her babysitter’s boyfriend had killed her 18-month-old son. Jennifer Lawson said her son Jacob Flowers who was killed on Dec. 16, was her “miracle child.”
“They’ve always told me I couldn’t have kids,” Lawson said. “I’ve never gotten pregnant, nothing until I got pregnant with him.”
Her son was under the care of Brandon Sullivan and his girlfriend, who were babysitting him in their home at Vista Apartments and Townhomes. The woman was supposed to be the primary caregiver, but she left the toddler at home along with her boyfriend, who was later discovered to have blunt-force trauma to his head. He was beaten to death by the boyfriend.
Lawson, who found the woman in a local Facebook group, said she had been her babysitter for a few months before the incident occurred, and she trusted her. The boyfriend, Brandon Sullivan, 29, is charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse
