OU Combined Federal Campaign: Pastoral Appreciation

What a phenomenal occasion it was to see hundreds of ministers, lay pastors and Bible workers assemble for the annual Pastoral Evangelism & Leadership Conference (PELC), December 8-11, 2019.

During the Tuesday morning session, Dr. Leslie Pollard, President of Oakwood University, Cheri Wilson, Executive Director of Advancement, and Miriam Battles expressed heartfelt appreciation to several pastors who have demonstrated uncommon interest in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Each of them placed a special touch on the way their congregation has promoted the campaign, which ends on January 12, 2020. They have made verbal, digital or church bulletin announcements, showed an OU CFC video clip, and approved that a table can be set up in their church foyer/lobby so a representative can speak with Federal employees and disseminate information.

The following pastors were recognized during PELC with tokens of appreciation: Elaine Arthur, Carlton Byrd ’94, Paul Graham ’94, Marcus Harris ‘79 , Trevor Kinlock, Anthony Medley ’82 , Emil Peeler, Prentiss Sorrells ’82, and Gary Wimbish ’75 . We are extremely grateful for their prayerful support and leadership, which will contribute to the success of this campaign.

We were blessed to have 72 pastors visit the CFC Booth during PELC, and commit to place announcements at their church to inform Federal employees and retirees of Oakwood University’s CFC Code #96964. Alumni and loyal friends of Oakwood University who volunteered at the booth were, Marilyn Lang, ’75 , Chlora Jones, (attended 1949-1951), Sheila McNeil ‘83 , Craig & Renee Cawthorne, Margie Greenlee and Joan Slocumb, ’76
