Men Found Shot to Death Days Apart on Atlanta Road

Two men were found shot to death in the middle of the road in Atlanta just days apart. On Wednesday, a man was found in a southwest Atlanta neighborhood, shot to death in the street, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Shortly after 1 a.m. in the 1200 block of Anchor Terrace in the Venetian Hills neighborhood, officers answered a call about a shooting. Atlanta police Capt. Christian Hunt told Channel 2 that a 34-year-old victim was discovered in the street and had been shot in the chest, said Hunt, who works as the department night commander.

The investigators worked for hours overnight at the scene, reported the news station. No further details about the shooting have been released. The identity of the victim remains unclear.

In a similar shooting on Monday, a man was found dead on the side of the road in Atlanta across town. About 11:15 p.m., officers responded to the shooting of Marcus Brandon, 28, who was discovered shot to death in the 700 block of Hutchens Road, near South Atlanta High School.

According to Channel 2, his body was discovered next to a U-Haul truck. Police ruled his death a homicide.

Police continue to investigate both shootings, and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, text information to 274637, or visit the Crime Stoppers website. Those who wish to give information can remain anonymous and rewards up to $2000 are offered.
