Irving Azoff and Oak View Group Break Ground on Huge Coachella Valley Arena


On June 2, 2021, Oak View Group (OVG), the global venue development, advisory, and investment company for the sports and live entertainment industries, and The H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation, a private foundation that generously supports educational and other charitable projects, officially broke ground on Coachella Valley Arena, a new state-of-the-art, privately financed sports and entertainment arena near the City of Palm Desert. The arena is projected to open in the last quarter of 2022.

Berger Foundation; and Scott White of the Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). Located on 43.35 acres of land at I-10 and Cook Street, in Riverside County on land owned by the Berger Foundation, the new $300 million arena will be more than 300,000 square feet, feature 11,000-plus seats, and include modern suites and premium hospitality clubs. 

In addition to being home to Seattle Kraken’s American Hockey League (AHL) team, the new venue will be built for music and host the best and biggest names in the music industry on an annual basis, providing a world-class venue for top touring concerts and shows.
