Republic Records proudly welcomes Rick Krim in the newly created position of Executive Vice President, Artist Development as announced by the company’s Co-Founders and Chief Executives Monte and Avery Lipman.Mr. Krim steps into this recently created role with over 30 years of experience in the music industry. He will be responsible for fostering and encouraging the development and growth of various artists on the company’s roster.
His primary focus remains uncovering diverse and untrodden avenues to break these acts, further magnifying their respective impact and encompassing everything from marketing and promotion to television, film, and digital. Mr. Krim will report to both Monte and Avery Lipman along with Executive Vice President, Republic Records Charlie Walk, all of whom with which, Mr.
Krim has had long historic ties. Mr. Krim will also work closely with all of the executive staff to execute his various initiatives.
About his addition to the company, Monte states, “Rick’s passion for music and devotion to the artist community has always been his greatest trademark. His illustrious career supporting the development process of many of today’s biggest artists, has earned him the respect of the entire music community.”Avery agrees, “We’ve admired Rick’s work from afar for quite a long time. Krim remained a linchpin amongst VH1’s executive staff, holding the position of Executive Vice President of Talent and Music Programming for VH1. Prior, he served as Senior Vice President of Talent Acquisitions and Marketing for EMI Publishing, signing and helping to break Goo Goo Dolls, Good Charlotte, Train, and more. He kicked off his career at MTV Networks in 1982 as a business manager eventually working his way up to Vice President of Talent and Artist Relations in 1992.
He graduated from Bucknell University.
