We all know the horrific atrocities that were endured by Africans who were stolen from their native land and subjected to the brutality of slavery in this country. Most Black people in America know we are the descendants of our ancestors and their savage captures.

It is one thing to know, read, and hear about it via books and/or movies; it is completely another thing to read the words of your Great Great Aunt, who actually was a slave from a first person perspective.
