February 6, 2014 (New York, NY) – HOT 97, the #1 station for Hip Hop and R&B, presents Who’s Next Live, the ultimate showcase that gives underground artists the opportunity to display their talents for fans and major players in the industry. On Tuesday, February 18, 2014 check out performances by Vic Mensa and Nitty Scott, MC, with Rugz D Bewler and HOT 97’s 2013 Summer Jam Boost Mobile MC Battle winner, KB Young Hustle, at the legendary SOBs venue in New York City. Stepping onto the Who’s Next stage is Chicago rapper Vic Mensa, the former front-man of the Hip Hop group, Kids These Days. In May 2013, Mensa decided to focus on his solo career and released his second mixtape, INNANETAPE, this past September. “I want people to walk away with a sense of who I am as a person, as an artist, just enjoying being alive,” says Mensa (Vibe, May 2013). Recently, Mensa has announced a European tour with Danny Brown slated for the end of February.
Joining him is Nitty Scott, MC, a Brooklyn-raised female lyricist who got her first big break in 2010 after freestyling over Kanye West’s single, “Monster”. Scott has performed during BET’s “Hip Hop Awards” and Brooklyn’s Hip Hop Festival. Harlem rapper, Rugz D Bewler, will also take the stage. In honor of the 56th Grammy Awards this year, Bewler dropped his single “Posturepedic Dance Floors” to highlight Daft Punk. Check out the single courtesy of ThatsEnuff.com.
KB Yung Hustle, HOT 97’s Summer Jam 2013 Boost Mobile MC Battle Winner, will also be hitting the Who’s Next stage. After stints on the Florida and Atlanta Hip Hop scene, KB moved up to New York to perfect his craft. In addition to being crowned the 2013 Boost Mobile MC Battle Winner, KB has release four new mixtapes in recent years, including his hit single, “Follow Me,” from his latest mixtape, Grind Over Matter.
