AOC and Squad Rally Sparks Controversy

Incident Overview

A man has been shot and killed in SoHo, with the suspect still at large. The incident occurred on June 25th at approximately 5:15 AM on Greene Street, known for its high-end shops and multi-million dollar loft apartments.

Details of the Shooting

The victim, a 31-year-old man believed to be from New Jersey, was shot three times in his right leg. A white Range Rover with New Jersey plates was found at the scene with an open door, suggesting the victim may have been getting into the vehicle when he was shot. The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Community Reaction

Longtime residents expressed their shock and concern over the incident. They noted an increase in violence citywide, not just in SoHo. One resident remarked on the ubiquitous presence of guns and the rising number of shootings in Manhattan and other boroughs.

Ongoing Investigation

NYPD detectives are actively collecting evidence at the scene. A video canvass of the neighborhood is underway to identify the shooter or shooters. Detectives are seeking surveillance footage that could provide crucial leads in the investigation.
