Too bad this didn’t happen 20 years ago when I smoked it. Great idea, its always been a tax issue and other states will probably follow. You kill two birds with one stone, you eliminate the criminal factor that goes with selling it and you have a new income resource. Buyers can be sure it’s a decent grade too.
California Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (Democrat โ San Francisco) introduced a bill in the California legislature on Monday to legalize and tax marijuana for recreational use in the state. Given the dire condition of the stateโs economy and enormous public support for legalization, proposed bill 390 might be one of the smartest moves yet to bring in a projected $1.5 billion into the stateโs coffers from taxation of legally cultivated, purchased, and consumed marijuana. Marijuana would be legal for those of 21 years of age or older to purchase and responsibly use under the law. California is once again showing the courage that much of the rest of America expects in social experimentation.
