Berry Gordy, a celebrated songwriter, brought us such stars as Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Diana Ross, The Supremes, Michael Jackson and The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, The Commodores, and many more. Gordy created the sound that defined a generation and provided common ground during a period of racial division. Gordy’s appointment of women to position of power throughout Motown was groundbreaking.

“I have worked with the best in the business and choosing the right person to run my operation was no easy task. Carol is the person I have come to trust and rely on to fill this role. She has vision, the necessary skills and is brave enough to take this on,” says Berry Gordy. Adds Perrin ” Mr. Gordy has been a friend and mentor to me over the years and I am honored to be given this privilege and responsibility. I look forward to working with Mr. Gordy in this new role.”
