U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan stated that Scott Spilberg (56), of Canton, became manager of Houck’s Grille in August 2020.

Spilberg is alleged to have used his company-issued debit to pay for two visits to adult entertainment clubs in Oct. 2020, during the height of COVID-19.

According to reports, he visited the clubs over 50 times in an 11-month span and charged more than $300,000.

“This greedy defendant used his position to finance his own lifestyle. Keri Farley (Special Agent in Charge at FBI Atlanta) stated that his actions had devastating effects on the restaurant and the people he was selected to lead. “People who steal from their employers without shame should expect to face justice.”

Spilberg was convicted of wire fraud on September 19, 2022.

He was sentenced to two years imprisonment with six months in prison, followed by three years of supervision.

He was also ordered to pay $300,533.78 in restitution.

It is not clear how long he was employed by the restaurant. source WSB
