Pit Bull Attacks 4-Year-Old; Owner Wants Dogs Back

In all fairness, Pit Bulls can be great dogs, but it’s the way people raise them. In addition, visit any rescue, and you will see that a majority of the dogs there are Pit Bulls that their owners have abandoned for whatever reason.

In Teaneck, NJ, a horrified young mother named Khaleen Brown Anderson had just let her 4-year-old daughter out of the car seat when a Pit who was loose in the neighborhood attacked the child.

Luckily a plumber named Micheal Policastro was nearby and heard the mother’s frantic screams. He says his initial reaction was to kick the dog in the ribs, but he said the dog turned and looked at him, ready to attack. Instead, he started screaming at the Pit, who ran away. The mother says the young girl is so traumatized that she can’t sleep and cries repeatedly.

The dog’s owner Jason Evans who lives a few blocks away from the scene was issued two summonses and the dog was impounded. A judge will decide if the dog will be put down.

Evans hopes to get his dog back and stated “We let the dog out to use the bathroom and she must’ve hit the lock. All I hope is we get the dog back and we are all going to take better precautions like put a padlock on the gate now and other things that will keep her inside,” Evans said. source
