A mother has died, and two others were injured after a family was trapped under a pile of debris during a roof collapse. The roof caved in while it was under repair. The tragic accident happened on Friday in Ghulam Muhammad Abad police limits.
In Fateh Abad Street No 2, Chak No 219-RB, Talianwala Road, the roof gave way while being fixed, said a Rescue 1122 spokesman.
Unable to escape the rubble, 50-year-old Naziran Bib, her son Ali, 30, and Junaid Ashraf, 1, were trapped inside, buried under the rubble.
Reportedly, the injured were removed from the debris by Rescue 1122 and taken to Government General Hospital Ghulam Muhammad Abad. Naziran Bib died at the hospital. The other victims remain in serious condition.
No other information was given.
