Last weekend, Huston-Tillotson University students attended an exclusive meet and greet with Jamelle Bouie, Chief Political Correspondent for Slate Magazine. Jamelle spoke to students about his journalism career and provided insights on his view of the political and social state of America. He also answered students’ questions about meeting former President Barack Obama, and if he thinks there will ever be a female President of the United States of America – he said it could be possible!

Later that same afternoon, Dr. Colette Pierce Burnette participated on a panel with fellow HBCU presidents to talk about what HBCUs mean for Texas, and how an HBCU education can change a student’s life.
