Lenny Kravitz recently joined The Edge on SiriusXM�s “Close To The Edge” to discuss his early years as a musician and share some candid thoughts about his journey in the industry.
Reflecting on his early success, Lenny credits his upbringing, surrounded by successful figures like his mother and his ex-wife, for helping him handle fame without losing himself. Despite this, he admits he had no real understanding of the pressures of touring until it was thrust upon him.
In the conversation, Lenny opens up about how touring changed his perspective on life. Before his career took off, he had not traveled much beyond New York, LA, and a brief trip to Europe.
However, once he started hitting the road, the world opened up to him. He recalls meeting incredible people across the globe, and it was during this time that he felt life truly began.
The Edge also threw a series of �this or that� questions at Lenny. The most notable answers included his choice of The Beatles over The Rolling Stones (“There are two delicious meals on the table, and I have to pick one”) and Jimi Hendrix over Prince, reasoning that “if there wasn�t Jimi Hendrix, there wouldn�t be a Prince.”
When asked about where he feels most at home, Lenny chose the Bahamas, calling it a place that grounds him spiritually and where he feels deeply connected to his roots.
The conversation touches on topics like Lenny’s preference for vinyl over streaming and his unique take on milk, which he�s never been able to drink since childhood. He also shares that he�s been living a laid-back lifestyle in the Bahamas, enjoying the natural surroundings and simplicity of life.
