As a surprise to guests, Fogerty performed his iconic hits, including “Up Around The Bend,” “Bad Moon Rising,” and “The Old Man Down the Road,” joined by his sons, Shane and Tyler Fogerty. The night also celebrated Fogertys new album Legacy, a 20-track collection of newly recorded versions of his biggest songs, which marks the first time he fully owns the rights to his influential CCR catalog. The event highlighted Fogertys artistic reclamation, with stellar performances from various artists including Jesse Welles, 2023 BMI Troubadour Billy F Gibbons with La Marisoul, Jay Buchanan, The War And Treaty, and Lainey Wilson.

Video tributes by fellow BMI Icons like Dolly Parton, John Oates, Robert Earl Keen, Rick Beato, Eric Church, and Chris Stapleton further emphasized Fogertys signature guitar playing and universal songwriting influence. The ceremony, held just before AMERICANAFEST, brought together BMIs Americana family, including renowned figures like the Del McCoury Band, Chris Isaak, Sam Bush, and more. The evening was sponsored by Gallagher Insurance and WP Global.

Fogertys relationship with BMI dates back to 2005, and he has received several honors over the years, including the BMI Icon award in 2010 and the BMI Board of Directors Award in 2023. His career has earned him 13 BMI Million-Air certificates, recognizing songs that have been played over one million times on the radio, with his works amassing over 64 million broadcast performances. Fogertys extensive legacy as the frontman of Creedence Clearwater Revival has influenced countless artists across genres, combining blues, country, rockabilly, pop, R&B, and swamp boogie into a distinctive sound that defined an era.

In addition to his accolades, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His song Centerfield earned him a unique honor from the Baseball Hall of Fame, making him the only musician ever recognized by the institution.#JohnFogerty #BMI #TroubadourAward #CCR #LegacyAlbum #AmericanMusic #MusicLegends #Songwriting #RockAndRoll #LivePerformance #Americana #MusicAwardNASHVILLE, TENNESSEE – SEPTEMBER 16: BMI Troubadour Awards honoring John Fogerty takes place on September 8, 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee.
