TikTok's Add to Music Tool Hits 3 Billion Track Saves for Streaming Services

TikTok’s Growing Impact on Music Streaming

The Add to Music feature is compatible with several major music platforms, including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and others like Anghami, SoundCloud, Deezer, Melon, and TIDAL. Users can easily find the ‘Add Song’ button next to track names while browsing their For You feed.

This milestone was disclosed in TikToks Year in Music report, highlighting the significant role the platform plays in driving music consumption. TikTok notes that these 3 billion track saves have led to billions more streams and contributed to elevating songs on global music charts.

In 2025, Taylor Swift was acknowledged as the platform’s Global Most-Saved Artist, following the release of her groundbreaking album, The Life of a Showgirl. TikTok reported that millions of users saved her album, both in anticipation of its release and immediately after.

The title of Global Most-Saved Track for 2025 went to sombrs Back to Friends, which has been featured in over 7.7 million video creations, amassing an impressive 21.7 billion views. This track has also achieved over 1.1 billion streams on Spotify alone. Sombr’s journey to success exemplifies how TikTok can propel a song into the mainstream, ultimately leading to its debut on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The Most-Saved Album on TikTok this year was Tate McRaes So Close To What, released in February, which debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200. McRae’s rise is also attributed to her viral hit Greedy on TikTok, demonstrating the platform’s influence in shaping the careers of emerging artists.

In addition to individual artists, TikTok recognized KATSEYE, a girl group formed in 2023 by South Koreas HYBE and Universal Music Groups Geffen, as its Global Artist of the Year. KATSEYE has quickly amassed over 30 billion views and 12 million creations on TikTok within the year.

Connie Francis’s classic Pretty Little Baby was named TikToks Global Song of the Year, while songwriter EJAE received the title of Songwriter of the Year. EJAE’s contributions to the soundtrack of the hit movie KPop Demon Hunters have been particularly noteworthy, highlighting the platform’s role in showcasing talent.

Tracy Gardner, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development, emphasized the platform’s influence in music discovery, stating that it serves as a vital connection between global audiences and the artists they love. This ability to foster connections across genres and styles continues to distinguish TikTok in the music industry.
