Disney+ and Hulu Expand Global Livestream Access to Major Festivals

For publishers, songwriters and rights holders, the real news here is simple: three of Live Nation’s biggest festivals are getting wider digital reach at the same time Disney+ and Hulu deepen their live music strategy. Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Music Festival will livestream across both platforms for the first time, opening the door to a larger global audience for these performances.

Disney+ adds a global layer to Hulu’s festival streams

On Monday, Disney+ and Hulu announced that Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Festival will stream live across both platforms for the first time. Hulu is entering its sixth year of offering worldwide access to these festivals from home, and Disney+ is now adding a global livestream element.

Lauren Tempest, Head of Content Planning & Partnerships, DTC at The Walt Disney Company, said music festivals are “among the most electric, can’t-miss moments in culture,” and said Disney+ and Hulu subscribers around the world can now experience them. She added that the company remains committed to bringing fans “the biggest, most iconic moments right as they happen,” and said the partnership with Live Nation brings that vision to life.

Live Nation points to a bigger real-time audience

Kevin Chernett, EVP, Head of Global Media Partnerships at Live Nation, said music festivals used to be experiences reserved for people physically there, but are now becoming global live moments that fans want to experience together in real time. He said expanding the partnership with Disney+ and Hulu allows these festivals to reach music fans at an entirely different scale.

The announcement also cited the 2025 Live Nation Living for Live Global Study, which found that 73% of fans say they are listening to more international artists than they used to, while 85% agree that live music now transcends borders and languages.

Live Set returns with interviews and behind-the-scenes content

Along with the livestreams, Disney+ and Hulu will bring back the Live Set, an on-site content studio at each festival. The studio will feature an updated design and be programmed with artist interviews and behind-the-scenes content throughout each weekend.

This year’s festival dates are set: Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival runs from June 11 to June 14, Lollapalooza from July 30 to August 2, and Austin City Limits Music Festival from October 2 to October 4. Additional details about the livestreams will be available ahead of each festival.
