Damon goes into more detail in this video to explain the situation with Lee Daniels. He states initially Lee DID pay him for one movie then reneged on The Woodsman. Damon states he read the script and though the movie was really weird and he didn’t want to invest in it but Lee talked him into it using the “We don’t support each other enough as Black men” line. Damon goes on to say Lee put Oprah and Denzel down for not helping but Oprah did work with Lee on The Butler after that.
