Rick Ross Finally Apologizes for “Rape” Lyrics

Rick RossRick Ross has made a few appearances since his infamous “date rape” lyrics and has not really apologized for them. The MMG rapper has finally come forward to formally apologize for lyrics some have called pro-rape. His apology was done via twitter and it came just on time as a women’s group, UltraViolet, planned a protest outside of one of his sponsors, Reebok, in Manhattan.

If you don##Q##t know where the controversy stemmed from, in Rocko‘s song “U.O.E.N.O,” Ross raps about giving a woman a Molly, which is potent drug, and being able to sleep with her although she isn##Q##t aware of it. Just last week Ross said his lyrics were misinterpreted but he tweeted Thursday that he doesn’t condone rape and apologized for lyrics that were “interpreted as rape.” He also offered “apologies to my many business partners, who would never promote violence against women,” specifically mentioning Reebok and UltraViolet.

Not that we condone what Rick Ross said, but when you really look at it, Biggie also talked about beating women and tying people’s daughters up in Brooklyn basements so are we being hypocritical toward Rick Ross?
