 width=Melvin C. Butler, aka DJ “The Cooker”, 69, passed away July 3, 2012. Born July 23, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA, son of James E. Butler and Mary E. Burley-Butler. He was a DJ on WKND Radio in Hartford as well as on WDAS in Philadelphia. He leaves daughter Cynthia Butler Milner of East Hartford; son Marvin Carr of Auburn, AL; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at HKH-Clark Bell & Bell Funeral Home 319 Barbour St., Hartford.
