I was watching this video of Monigue on the Rickey Smiley show in 2019 and she explains that as Black people we are conditioned to think we are not enough. This came about when she was asked if she would host the Oscars over the Image awards. The whole video is funny but she talks about her exchange with a radio show at 21:15
