Future is back in album mode, and that matters because every move he makes now can ripple through streaming, radio, and rights discussions around a major release. On Monday, he announced a new album titled The Real Me, his first since his 2024 back-to-back projects with Metro Boomin.
Future puts The Real Me into motion
Future made the announcement on social media, posting an Instagram Story with a red graphic that read “Future The Real Me” in black ink. He also changed the graphic to his profile picture on Instagram. Spotify ads using the same logo have also appeared on billboards. Future then confirmed the title on X, writing, “Album title: THE REAL ME.”
His first album since two 2024 Billboard 200 leaders
The Real Me will be Future’s first album since We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, which were released in 2024. Both collaborative albums featured Metro Boomin handling production and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
A run of recent releases has kept the rollout warm
Future has also been active in recent weeks with other releases. He reunited with Drake for “Ran to Atlanta” from ICEMAN, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. He also teamed with Tyla on “Game Time,” the FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem, and the pair performed the song live at SoFi Stadium during the World Cup kickoff and USA Opening Ceremony in Inglewood, Calif.
In April, DJ Khaled brought in Future and Lil Baby for “One of Them.” The song debuted at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is set to appear on Khaled’s Aalam of God album.
What to watch next: whether Future sets a release date for The Real Me, and how the album campaign develops after the title reveal and billboard rollout.
