“All In: The Fight for Democracy” to open in drive-ins nationwide on Sept. 9

The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and All Voting is Local, with its joint And Still I Vote℠ campaign, will debut the Amazon Original film “All In: The Fight for Democracy” as it opens in drive-in theaters nationwide on Wednesday, September 9.

The collaboration between the film and civil rights organization aims to mobilize thousands of voting rights activists and allies in seven cities to remove discriminatory barriers to the ballot ahead of the 2020 general election.

“We are thrilled to work with Amazon Studios to harness the power of this inspiring film to energize activists as we continue our fight to protect the vote,” said Hannah Fried, national campaign director for All Voting is Local, a campaign of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. “We know we can’t rest until we dismantle barriers to the ballot wherever they exist. ‘All In: The Fight for Democracy’ conveys the spirit and determination of our movement during this critical moment to ensure every voice is heard.”

The film will be shown at drive-in theaters all across with the country, with seven screenings in particular being sponsored by All Voting is Local. The locations were strategically picked to target areas in which there are campaign staff on the ground fighting for the right to vote. More than 3,200 advocates and their families are expected to attend screenings, in which attendees will wear masks, watch safely from their cars, and maintain social distancing requirements.

During the screenings, the All Voting is Local campaign will share strategies about how participants can fight for the right to vote in their communities. The screening will take place in: Glendale, Arizona; Dearborn, Michigan; Las Vegas, Nevada; Atlanta, Georgia; Columbus, Ohio; and Orefield, Pennsylvania. A seventh event in Florida is scheduled to follow shortly after the first wave of screenings.

In anticipation of the 2020 presidential election, “All In: The Fight for Democracy” examines the often overlooked, yet insidious issue of voter suppression in the United States. The film weaves personal experiences with current activism and historical insight to expose a problem that has corrupted our democracy from the very beginning. With the perspective and expertise of Leadership Conference CEO Vanita Gupta and Stacey Abrams, the former Minority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives, the documentary offers an insider’s look into laws and barriers to voting. The film opens in theaters Sept. 9, and on Prime Video Sept. 18.
