Beasley Media Group hires Jamillah “Jam” MuhammadSeasoned radio programmer comes to the Queen CityBeasley Media Group Charlotte has appointed broadcast veteran Jamillah “Jam” Muhammad as Operations/Program Director of legendary hip-hop music station WPEG/Power 98 and Urban AC WBAV/V101.9.Jamillah started out her Radio career over 22 years ago at a Chicago station in the arena of Programming and Operations. After starting out producing the stations’ morning show, Jam moved her way up the ranks quickly and became Music Director and Assistant Program Director of WVAZ-FM/V103. Spending over 10 years in the Windy City was great training for her to take over her next two opportunities; Programming Urban Adult Contemporary WKKV-FM (V-100) in Milwaukee as well as WMXD (Mix 92.3) in Detroit.

She continued on with her success serving as Program Director for Premiere Radio Networks “The Sweat Hotel featuring Keith Sweat” syndicated show. Finally Jam found her way to Washington, D.C, where she effectively led her team of broadcasters on Urban Adult Contemporary WMMJ-FM/MAJIC 102.3 and Gospel WPRS-FM (Praise 104.1).”Jam has deservedly earned the respect from her peers and has a tremendous reputation,” said Bill Schoening, Market Manager and Vice President for Beasley Media Group Charlotte. “We are thrilled to have her join the Beasley family and I am excited to watch where she takes these stations.”Jam is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalism as well as the Recording Academy/Grammy Chicago Chapter. She has received numerous service and industry awards such as the International Black Broadcasters Association Icon Award, R&R UAC Program Director of the Year Major Market, R&R Station of the Year Major Market, Urban Network UAC PD of the Year and the Molina Health Care Community Leader Award.”I am incredibly excited to join Bill and the Beasley family in the Charlotte market,” said Jam. “I love radio, I love to win and I am looking forward to leading these heritage brands.” Jam is an active volunteer with The Salvation Army.
