Mentally Ill Homeless Man Beats Elderly Security Guard

A shirtless homeless man savagely beat an elderly security guard with a rock over the weekend. The 64-year-old man was attacked with a stone on a Brooklyn subway platform while heading home from work, said police.

According to the police. Shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday. Intazar Dar was traveling on the Q Train from his security guard job in lower Manhattan when an assailant randomly attacked the older man at the Avenue H station in Midwood.

Before the attack, Dar told ABC’s Eyewitness News that he noticed the man mumbling loudly and pacing back and forth on the train. Once the train pulled into Avenue H, the two got off, and the suspect began an argument with the older worker.

The suspect then leaped onto the tracks, picked up a rock, and returned to his spot on the platform. As the victim tried to approach the turnstiles, surveillance footage showed the suspect shoving Dar to the ground. Allegedly, he was struck repeatedly with the rock, causing him to lose consciousness, police said.

The suspect then fled the scene. Cops are still trying to locate him.

“This is the first time it’s happened in my life in New York City, but now I’m scared,” Dar told the outlet.

“It’s been two years since I’ve been doing my job — I don’t have any problem with this place … now I see a lot of homeless people – they make me scared.”

Dar was treated and released at the Maimonides Medical Center for head trauma.

The victim said he will likely have to take at least a week off work because he still suffers from swelling in the head.

Police described the attacker as a male in his 30s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 170 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair.
