Gunman Invades Memphis Apartment, Robs Residents (Video)

Shocking Home Invasion Caught on Camera

Fox 13 News has obtained surveillance footage showing a masked gunman robbing an apartment full of people in southeast Memphis. The incident occurred early Saturday morning at the Emerald Ridge apartments near Lamar and Winchester.

Gunman Demands Money, Residents Fear for Safety

The gunman entered the apartment and immediately demanded money from the residents. One of the victims, who wis to remain anonymous, shared that the gunman yelled, “Give me the money, give me the money,” while pointing a gun at them.

Robbery Occurs During Family Gathering

The robbery took place during a family gathering, which was disrupted when a friend stepped outside to make a phone call and was forced back inside by the gunman. The victim stated that the gunman pistol-whipped one of her friends before ran upstairs to retrieve cash to give him.

Victim Prioritizes Family Safety Over Money

The victim handed over approximately $400 to the gunman. She emphasized that the money was insignificant compared to the safety of her family, particularly her six-year-old and infant children who were present during the incident.

Fear of Future Attacks

The victim expressed her fear of the gunman returning and stated her intention to move to a safer location. She described the neighborhood as increasingly dangerous and unsuitable for raising her children.

Police Seek Public’s Help

Memphis police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH. Anonymous tips could lead to a cash reward and help the victimized family move forward.
