Makeda Barnes-Joseph has slapped Remy Ma with an $80 million plus civil suit filed yesterday claiming the rapper shot her several months ago. Remy indeed shot the woman, twice in the stomach for the alleged theft of $2000 some years before after a night out on the town turned ugly. In case you’re wondering where the 80 million is coming from Universal Music Group and Sure Shot Recordings are attached to the suit as the responsible parties for Remy’s “image.” Joseph’s attorney Lauren P. Raysor issues a statement to the Village Voice saying “Only by pursuing those who we believe are legally responsible for this vicious and callous act of violence, can we hope to put an end to this senseless cycle of violence that is glorified by Hip-Hop marketing.†The wounds Joseph sustained from the shooting have resulted in three surgeries and frequent hospital visits. Remy claims she is innocent.
