James Fortune Gets 5 Years Probation for Wife Assault

Gospel singer James Fortune was given 5 Days in Jail and 5 years probation plus community service this week for assaulting his wife. Terms of the probation included if the violates the probation he could get up to 10 years in prison. In 2002 he was also given 6 years probation for injury to a child when he burned his son with hot water. Fortune never returned as the host of his nationally syndicated radio show after his arrest. Did he get off easy or should he have done some time?
